Sculptural Knitting (FIB-0105)

Explores knitting and crocheting as a medium and conceptual strategy. explore the histories and theories associated with the act of needlework, as well as contemporary artists employing these processes. Employs different techniques, materials and means of knitting: hand knitting, looms and machine knitting. Examine different pathways of creation through collaborative and individual projects students: generating ideas and following these ideas through to the finished “product”. No prior experience in knitting or crochet is necessary. Open to all levels. Non-SMFA students and MAT Art Education students will receive a letter grade.
