Material Matters! (SCP-0105)

Explore sculpture with nontraditional materials and processes. Experiment with a new material every two weeks while engaging with recent scholarship in material culture studies and theory. In-class demonstrations and discussions will guide individual experiments and projects by using the properties of the provided materials as a point of departure. Students will gain insight into contemporary issues in sculpture while testing material limits and meanings in their own work. No previous experience in sculpture is required. Open to all.
