Children and youth often encounter adversities in their development, such as poverty, child maltreatment, community violence, or chronic disease. Despite adversity, some children overcome the odds and demonstrate resilience. Characteristics of children and youth, and their families and communities, that promote well-being in the context of adversity. Course may include a field-based practicum. Prerequisite: CSHD 1 or Psych 1.
