Professional Development for the Doctoral Capstone (OTS-0214)

This course is a progression from OTS 213 Introduction to the Doctoral Capstone to further integrate self-directed learning, ongoing self-assessment, and updating Professional Portfolio information regarding competencies. Using the KAWA model students will revise their Professional Development Plans related to strengths and areas for further development . Students will engage in learning about organizational development and leadership through readings and attendance at an AOTA Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting.. Students will implement Instructional Design from OTS 213 to present material orally related to their Doctoral Capstone project proposal and related skills (SWOT analysis/needs assessment, grant writing, IRB, writing samples, oral presentation skills) for peer and faculty feedback. By the end of this course a full doctoral project proposal will be ready for presentation and peer/faculty feedback.
