Watercolor: Fundamentals and Beyond (PAIM-0094)

Exploration of the basic techniques and characteristics of the watercolor medium. Development of understanding of the medium in technical, expressive, and historical terms through warm-ups and fundamental exercises. After completing these exercises, students work with the teacher to develop their own themes and subject matter. Discussion of great watercolor painters and viewing of contemporary watercolors. Previous drawing and/or painting experience in any media required. Course may be repeated.
