Woodworking for Sculptors (SCP-0150)

Learn the fundamentals of woodworking. Learn the practical side of woodworking, Investigate the conceptual capabilities of the medium. Become familiar with contemporary woodworkers and discourse through lectures and group discussions. Watch demonstrations and gain hands-on experience using hand and machine tools. Develop your voice through a series of wood sculptures using additive and subtractive processes, including joinery techniques and carving and shaping. Open to students of all levels. Non-SMFA students and MAT Art Education students will receive a letter grade.
