How the body influences our understanding of the social world, the ways we interact with others, and self-perception. Examination of the body as a product of complex social arrangements and processes. Topics may include how bodies are regulated by social forces; how individuals use bodily knowledge to understand the social world; and whether a “right” body exists. Prerequisites: Two sociology courses or instructor permission.
