Negotiation Strategy and Skills (GMA-D220)

Explores the processes, rather than specific substantive issues, of international negotiation. In addition to exploring a wide range of issues that confront leaders negotiating in the global arena, the course will include an emphasis on building analytic, strategic and tactical skills of each student for negotiation in their leadership role. Students will have a chance to practice these skills in several simulations and exercises throughout the semester and to reflect on their own assumptions, approaches, and skills in those exercises. An important aim of this course is to understand frameworks and tools that help negotiators analyze negotiation and leadership situations and to use that analysis to build and executive an effective negotiation strategy.
