Quantitative and computational methods are central components of contemporary evolutionary, ecological, and biomedical research. Examines the process of biological inquiry through a computational lens with special attention to current areas of biological research, such as the genetic basis of complex traits and the predictability of evolution. Topics include introductory Python programming, evolutionary genetics, molecular genetics, simulation, and data analysis. No programming skills are assumed. Prerequisites: BIO 013 and BIO 014 or permission of instructor.
