Independent Research in Biology - Independent Study in the Practice (BIO-0194)

Spring semester listing for advanced research students participating in ongoing research in laboratory, computational, or ecological biology. Students should speak with potential faculty supervisors in advance of the course registration period. Students’ research contributions should demonstrate autonomy in literature reading, experimental design, and data collection/analysis. At least fifteen hours per week of research involvement and participation in research group meetings, culminating in a research paper and presentation. Satisfies a laboratory or course requirement for the Biology major. Consent of supervising research mentor required. For a letter grade. Prerequisites: Sophomore standing or higher, BIO 93 or BIO 94 or BIO 193 or BIO 194 or graduate standing or instructor permission.
