Review of Statistics for Quantitative Economics (EC-0017)

Mathematical statistical techniques that are used in econometric analysis and provide a foundation for students pursuing the quantitative economics major track. Topics may include probability theory, discrete and continuous random variables and their joint distributions, sampling and estimation, hypothesis testing, rudiments of statistical programming, and brief introduction to the theory of linear regression. Students who have taken Economics 13 and want to take Economics 14, must enroll in Economics 17 for credit. Economics 13 and Economics 14 may not both be taken for credit. Prerequisite: EC 13
