Chemical biology is the application of novel chemical matter to answer biological questions. Covers diverse topics including bioorthogonal chemistry, proximity-inducing small molecules, molecular evolution, and genetic code expansion. Readings cover current trends in the field and issues of justice, equity, and representation in science and academia. Prerequisites: Biology 13 and Chemistry 51. Chem 171 highly recommended.
