Advanced Drawing (DRW-0120)

Expand the physical range of drawing in relationship to place, space, and viewers. Strategies for working at large scale, in traditional media and temporal installation-based approaches. Three core projects: large format figure drawing, non-traditional media (projections, found objects, mist, dirt, or sound), and collaborative or intervention-based situations. Consider a broad range of material, technical and conceptual options with the goal of broadening understanding of what drawing is and can be. Opportunities to build professional skills in crafting language, proposing, presenting and documenting projects. For intermediate and advanced level students. Prerequisites: DRW 13 or DRW 18 or or PAI 3, or by permission of instructor. Non-SMFA students and MAT Art Education students will receive a letter grade.
