Creative Activism: Emerg Tech (GRA-0112)

Explore the power of public activism through site-specific projections, Augmented Reality, and digital games. Consider the responsibility of designers to engage with principles that matter, on both a personal and public level, and how one might connect with the public around histories of land art, through play facilitated by technology. Develop criteria for successful acts of social resistance through both public and web accessible projects, while considering aspects of community-based co-creation. Relevant works, artists, and technologies will be explored through readings, lectures, and demos. Free and open-source software, Adobe CC, and some coding will be used.
