Relief Print (PRT-0174)

Introduction to relief printmaking processes. Traditional woodcut methods such as single-color, reductive, and multi-block printing provide a foundation for experimental approaches. Demonstrations involve laser-engraved matrices, pressure monotype, chine collé, blind embossing, and the modular matrix. Students are encouraged to work at a large scale and to explore both traditional and non-traditional substrates. Open to all levels. Non-SMFA students and MAT students will receive a letter grade.
