Food through the lenses of identity, meaning, community, and power. How food nourishes and harms people, their bodies and minds, their communities, and the larger world. Topics may include the strange careers of common food products (e.g., white bread, coffee, fast food), food and media, cultural food traditions, and sites of struggle (fair trade, food sovereignty, carcerality). Examination of personal relationships to food.
