Clinical Prevention and Population Health II (DPT-0720)

This course will examine the physical therapist's role in population health and health promotion relative to health equity, health disparities, health behavior change, and community engagement. Related topics will be discussed, including but not limited to population health in physical therapy practice; health inequities including structural racism and income inequality and the impact on access to healthcare and healthy lifestyles; strategies for implementing behavior change in the populations we serve; and principles of community advocacy. This course aims to assist in the development of clinicians who are equipped to impact societal health positively.
