Development of idiomatic expression in reading, writing, and speaking through expansion of vocabulary and advanced grammar. Listening, viewing, and reading assignments focused on current events in German-speaking countries. Includes personal reflection and emphasis on intercultural competence and comparison. One additional weekly practice session to improve speaking facility and reinforce and expand class material. Prerequisite: One of GER 22, 34, 44, 61, 62, 91; or instructor permission.
