Introduction to literary theory with special emphasis on questions of language, representation, and ideology. Readings may include primary texts by Saussure, Levi-Strauss, Lacan, Derrida, de Man, Jameson, Sedgwick, Butler, Spivak, Gates, Badiou, Agamben, Miller, Gallop, and ¿i¿ek . Recommendations: ENG 1, 2 REQUIRED or Fulfillment of College Writing Requirement. Recommended that the student already have taken either ENG 20,21,22, or 23.
