Craft Theory Studio Seminar (SCP-0151)

Studio class in craft theory, including historic craft movements, contemporary craft, and craft’s relationship to the overlapping fields of fine art and design. Intersections with gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, nationality, and class within the context of craft theory. Develop a research practice to advance studio work. Includes readings, discussions, writing, field trips, and making. Mediums may include wood, fiber, ceramics, glass, metals, and paper . Intermediate course. Prior experience in any craft media recommended. Non-SMFA students and MAT Art Education students will receive a letter grade.
