Biomedical Concepts at the Molecular, Protein and Cellular Scales II (BME-0034)

Second course of a two-course sequence on biomedical concepts at the molecular, protein and cellular level scales: enzyme machinery and metabolism in cells, phage display, enzyme engineering, cellular structure and physiology, transport across membranes, cells acting alone and together in systems, stem cells, extracellular matrix, integrating cells into tissues, organs, and the body. Mix of didactic lectures, case studies, experimental/computational labs, and clinical/industrial presentations/visits. Students may not receive credit for both BME 34 and BME 175. Prerequisites: BME 33
