Case Studies in One Health (CMPH-0347)

This course examines the interconnected health and sustainability challenges of our time, including emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and climate change, through a One Health lens. Using case studies and interactive breakout sessions, students will apply a socioecological perspective to explore the interdependence of human, other animal, and environmental health, with an emphasis on systems thinking and transdisciplinary collaboration to solve complex challenges. Students will be introduced to current discourse on One Health governance and practical analytical tools, including stakeholder analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, fuzzy cognitive mapping, and gender analysis. Students are evaluated through a variety of methods, including class participation, a One Health blog post, and group presentation.
