Introduction to art-making through process. Explore multiple mediums to develop an artistic practice and enrich visual awareness. Emphasis on experimentation, ideation, and thinking critically about creative practices and developing a personal voice. Explore multiple discourses, including drawing, graphic, paint, and sculpture. Experiment with abstraction, realism, and conceptual approaches in the context of historical, cultural, and contemporary issues. Individual and collaborative exercises to broaden awareness of beliefs, concepts, and autobiographical content.. Not a foundations course in any specific medium. Open to all levels.
