Inclusive Practices in Art Education (EDS-0122)

Visual culture and art-making in the inclusive classroom. Role of the art educator in asking what counts as art, who counts as an artist, and what is knowledge in the context of art. Focus on accessible high-quality art engagement opportunities for all. Explores learning differences through current research in psychology, sociology, and anthropology. Ways of adapting and modifying lessons to accommodate all learners in the context of special education law. A Disability Studies view of ability/disability in the context of culture, society, and politics. Open to all BFA students; with priority registration given to BFA students who intend to apply for the MAT program.
