Painting a Week (PAIM-0075)

Develop an independent painting practice through rapid generation of multiple paintings. Generate ideas in a sketchbook/camera/etc. and bring them rapidly onto the canvas. Gain speed and facility with elements of painting (composition, gesture, visual organization) through generous easel time and exposure to contemporary painters’ work and methods. Hone ideas through iteration, inquiry, and group dialog. Open to abstraction, representation, and combinations thereof. Intermediate class open to all levels; previous painting experience is helpful.
