Photography from a concept-based or author-centric point of view. Breaking with the notion of “straight photography," construction/planning of photographs, intervention in the space, construction of still-lifes and larger environments, consideration of the veracity of photographs, and creation of things to be photographed. Emphasis on the intentionality in student work, situating it in a larger historical context. Level: Intermediate. Non-SMFA students and MAT Art Education students will receive a letter grade.
