Seminar: The Politics of Ethnicity and American Identity (PS-0109)

Current political issues stemming from the changing ethnic composition of the United States. Particular attention is paid to the meaning of American national identity, how it has changed over time, and what role it plays in shaping ethnicity-related policy debates. Topics include: immigration policy, public opinion, racial profiling, language policy, U.S. census, bilingual education, dual citizenship, redistricting, representation, and elections.
