Independent Study - Advanced - Cutlery, Materiality, Sexuality in Modern Europe (VMS-0194)

Independent or small group exploration of a topic of student choice mentored by an instructor. The topic should be related to the instructor's field of expertise within visual studies, material culture studies, art history, film and media studies, or any other discipline covered by the Visual and Material Studies Department. In weekly meetings, the instructor offers overall guidance and feedback, and students coordinate with the instructor to define a calendar of classes, major subtopics, readings and sources, and more. Assignments include argumentative writing and independent research.
