Research in Biology (BIO-0093)

Academic credit for students participating in biology research. Students must find their own research positions and may seek opportunities within or outside of Tufts. Students should speak with potential faculty supervisors prior to enrollment; see department website for project eligibility criteria and information on finding research opportunities. At least 150 hours (roughly 10 hours/week in the academic semester) of guided research involvement, including reading primary literature, data collection/analysis, and participation in research group meetings, culminating in a research paper. Confirmation of project eligibility and consent of supervising research mentor required at the start of the term. Pass/fail grading.
