Biomedical Concepts at the Molecular, Protein and Cellular Scales I (BME-0033)

First course of a two-course sequence on biomedical concepts at the molecular, protein and cellular level scales: nucleic acid structure and function, recombinant DNA techniques, genome sequencing, CRISPR gene editing, protein structure and function, regulation of protein expression, signal transduction, cellular receptors. Mix of didactic lectures, case studies, experimental/computational labs, and clinical/industrial presentations/visits. Students may not receive credit for BME 33 and BIO 13, BME 162, or BME 163
