Bioelectricity (BME-0123)
Fall 2026 · BME 0123 · Tufts University · 3 credits · Undergraduate
Fundamental physical basis of bioelectricity; understanding its role in various living organisms. Action-potential creation and transmission in the nervous system. Analysis of the heart as a distributed, highly fault-tolerant electrical system. Potential bioelectrical role in morphogenesis (creation of bodily shape) and cancer. Application of engineering concepts to understand molecular processes associated with bioelectricity. Recommendation: differential and integral calculus
