Environmental and Occupational Health (CMPH-0203)
Fall 2026 · CMPH 0203 · Tufts University · 3 credits · Undergraduate
This course addresses major occupational and environmental health issues and methods of prevention and control. Guest lecturers and in-class exercises enable students to understand “real-world” aspects of contemporary issues and the application of public health principles to the prevention and control of occupational and environmental disorders. All students complete a Special Project to enable them to apply principles and skills learned in the course to specific issues in occupational and environmental health. The course will enable students to develop skills in (a) recognizing and preventing environmental and occupational disease in individuals and populations, (b) developing and assessing environmental and occupational health policies, and (c) understanding the sociopolitical context in which environmental and occupational health risks occur.
