Multilevel Modeling in Developmental Science (CSHD-0254)
Fall 2026 · CSHD 0254 · Tufts University · 3 credits · Undergraduate
This course will provide an introduction to the theory and application of multilevel modeling (MLM), with a focus on techniques that are applicable to research in developmental science. The goal of this course is to have students be able to construct, analyze, modify, and test the adequacy of a variety of MLMs and report the results of their analyses in a manner acceptable in refereed journals, as well as review the analyses presented by their peers in the class and by academic colleagues in referred journals. This course is designed to provide students with conceptual understanding of MLM and guided experience running and interpreting these analyses using real data sets, including an independent project. The emphasis is more applied than technical.
