Human Anatomy (DPT-0500)

This course introduces foundational knowledge of gross anatomy and neuroanatomy. It explores clinical application of embryology, histology, and joint structure and function and the forces that affect human movement across the lifespan. Laboratory experiences use a variety of learning activities to solidify this foundational knowledge. This course addresses the content of the anatomical regions, including the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spines, thorax, upper extremities, pelvis, and lower extremities. Students will be introduced to principles of diagnostic imaging which will be used as one way to study anatomical structures in the course. Course emphasis is on the neuromuscular and musculoskeletal anatomy.
