Physical Therapy Fundamentals (DPT-0502)

This course introduces fundamental physical therapy skills including the clinical examination sequence used throughout the curriculum. Skills that are foundational to clinical examination and evaluation are introduced, including but not limited to vital signs, infection control, goniometry/range of motion, and muscle testing. Students will begin to develop patient interview and documentation skills. Students also gain foundational knowledge and skills related to basic functional mobility (e.g., patient positioning, bed mobility, transfers, gait, and use of assistive devices).
