Physical Therapy Practice I (DPT-0650)

This course develops student examination, evaluation, and intervention skills during an 8-week mentored clinical education experience. The student begins to communicate with patients/clients, family, and other professionals in healthcare and begins to appreciate the role of each team member. This is an integrated clinical education experience which builds on the didactic and psychomotor courses within the curriculum. This clinical education experience is the first practice experience where students are exposed to evidence-based patient management and clinical reasoning skills as an adult learner and a healthcare professional as part of an interprofessional collaborative team.
