Examination of the strategic interaction of firms in the marketplace and how this affects the way markets are organized. Different models of oligopoly are studied in order to understand how firms strategically set price, choose output, choose product quality, invest in capacity, and engage in R&D. Use of government policy and antitrust laws to influence the ways in which firms compete with each other. Prerequisite: Economics 11.
