The English Bible (ENG-0049)

A study of the Old and New Testaments from a literary perspective, examining the King James version as a work of the English Renaissance; with emphasis on the shaping and unity of the Bible's materials, the nature of its various genres and styles, the levels of its meaning, and the sources of its cultural influence. The particular approach is to the typological relationship of the Old and New Testaments to one another from an archetypal and structuralist point of view. Recommendations: ENG 1, 2 or Fulfillment of College Writing Requirement.
