Design: Advanced Architectural (HAA-0097)

Builds upon the foundational knowledge of architectural design and develops a higher degree of architectural design sophistication through a series of projects. Design challenges increase in complexity and duration over the course of the semester. Examines issues of context, form, and space, and draws upon previous design work from related courses such as architectural history, architectural engineering, urban planning, sculpture, and drawing. Emphasizes developing and critiquing the design process. Recommendation: Advanced skills in drawing and model making required. Trips to architectural works, lectures, and libraries. Prerequisite: HAA 96 or its equivalent at another institution. High Demand.
