Comparative Constitutional Law  (ILO-L253)

This course explores topics—from constitutional design to fundamental rights—arising in the comparative study of constitutional law globally in a variety of systems, including new and older constitutional democracies, as well as autocratic regimes. Course readings will go beyond the field’s dominant focus on North American and European constitutional systems to also include jurisdictions from the Global South. Class sessions are a mixture of lecture, discussion, student presentations, and debates.
