Surviving with Yeats and Auden (ENG-0067)

In-depth study of two of the 20th century’s major English-language poets, W. B. Yeats and W. H. Auden, with particular focus on the role of poetry during times of cultural upheaval and uncertainty. Examination of the relationship between poetic form, historical context, and personal experience, including questions of ethnicity and sexuality. No prior knowledge of poetry required.
