Feminist Media Arts (MDIA-0109)

Intersectional feminist practices in film, video, animation, installation, and digital media. Addresses embodiment, representation, and power across lens-based and time-based work. How race, gender, sexuality, class, ableism, religion, and colonial histories shape visual culture. Engages art history, media theory, and cultural critique. Projects emphasize research-driven media production, public interventions, and critical experimentation across physical and networked platforms. Screening, discussion, and studio practice. Prior experience in media production recommended but not required. Open to All Levels.
