Numerical Methods (ME-0101)
Fall 2026 · ME 0101 · Tufts University · 3 credits · Undergraduate
Numerical methods are studied and applied to the solution of problems in mechanical engineering. Interpolation, approximation, numerical linear algebra, including system solution and eigenvalue problems, solution of nonlinear equations, numerical differentiation and integration, ordinary differential equation algorithms, and finite-difference solution of partial differential equations. Applications using calculative software. Recommendations: MATH 51 and the ability to implement computer solutions.
