Doctoral Program Introduction: Research Methods/Study Design (NUTR-0400)

This course is required for new students in the doctoral program at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. It serves as an introduction to doctoral program. A primary focus of the course is to present an overview of various research methods and study designs used in research at the Friedman School. This is both to introduce these methods as a basis for future study, as well as to aid in students’ preparation for the doctoral field exam. A second focus of the course is to cover topics that will assist in students’ progress through the doctoral program and general professional development. The grading basis for this course is Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.
