Introduction to Interprofessional Practice (PA-0231)

This course prepares students to collaborate with members of other health professions in future practice in an effort to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Students will be provided with instruction on the roles and responsibilities of various members of the healthcare team, including their unique skills and expertise and what constitutes an appropriate referral. At the end of this course, learners will engage in an interprofessional educational activity working with healthcare students from a different discipline to analyze a complex patient case, incorporating their different perspectives while working collaboratively to develop a comprehensive treatment plan to improve patient outcomes.
