Application of academic study of Spanish language and Hispanic cultures to volunteer work in bilingual situations with organizations that serve Latino communities. Focus on the history, literature, and politics of Puerto Ricans on the island and the mainland and the experiences of Salvadorans and Mexicans in their native countries and in the United States. Minimum of four hours of volunteer work per week. In Spanish. Prerequisite: At least two courses above SPN 0022 or consent. Native Spanish-speakers require consent of the instructor.
